Scott Stewart

Tai Chi Instructor

Scott Stewart has been studying martial arts for forty years, the last twenty-nine of which have been devoted to Tai Chi Chuan. He attained a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do after eight years of study, and then proceeded directly to Tai Chi. After studying in Washington DC for six years, he moved to Taipei, Taiwan for seven years to study Tai Chi Chuan. Scott learned and subsequently taught the art in Mandarin. He has also taught in the [then] USSR, New York City, Washington DC, and currently in Las Vegas.

Scott Stewart was initiated into the Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan lineage by his teacher, Grandmaster Jeng Syan Chi on July 14, 1996. A prolific competitor, Scott was undefeated in his last three years in Taiwan, winning a World Cup championship and a number of national and international-level Tai Chi Push Hands tournaments. He has teaching credentials from two Grandmasters and heads of their respective lineages, Jeng Syan Chi and Wang Yen Nien; and also has certificates in basic Acupuncture and Ban Mai (pulse diagnosis), having studied a little Chinese medicine to gain a different perspective on the very same philosophic principles.
