The Importance of Daily Meditation

What is Meditation and what are its Benefits?

Meditation is when the mind becomes totally clean and receptive, and Infinity talks to the man.” – Yogi Bhajan

Meditation is known for being practiced for thousands of years. Originally it was meant to help deepen the understanding of the sacred and mystical forces of life but today, meditation is commonly used for relaxation and stress reduction.

In our modern society the amount of information grows more and more each day, and with it, so is the amount of our thoughts. The information most often interferes with normal living which can cause frustration and stress in daily life. If you find yourself anxious, worried, tensed, stressed, overwhelmed, you should consider trying meditation.

Meditation is considered a type of mind-body complementary medicine which can produce a deep state of relaxation and a tranquil mind.

During meditation, you focus your attention to eliminate the chatter in your mind. This process may result in enhanced physical and emotional well-being. Techniques such as mantras, mudras, breath and eye focus, are used in order to guide (train the mind) to a state of stillness.

Being able to allow the multiple thoughts to pass by instead of following them is the beginning of practicing meditation. Emptying the mind so there are no more thoughts is the real meditation!
