In the yogic world, the mind is described as a monkey that is drunk, bitten by 64,000 scorpions and is possessed by a ghost. This monkey mind creates a thousand thoughts in a blink of an eye. From these thousand thoughts, only one is expressed and the rest enter the subconscious and then the unconscious mind.
This monkey mind is never at rest. It is jumping from past to future, back and forth, from good to bad, right and wrong. The mind is like a chattering box.
The very effort to stop it gives it more nourishment to go on. The illusion, is the mind itself trying to solve the mind’s problem. But the reality is that even if one problem is solved, another problem sprouts from it.
The ancient Sages advise that life is not about solving the problems, it’s about dropping them. Problems can only be dropped if our identification with the mind and thoughts are dropped.
Join Yogi Amandeep, as he shares the ancient wisdom to transcend this ghost of the mind.
“The voice in my head is not me. I am that which chooses to react or not to react to this voice. Realizing this I am free” – Yogi Amandeep
